Fabric
Fabric and Weight
Cotton twill is the chino cloth — typically 97/3 or 98/2 cotton-elastane, 180–260gsm depending on season. A 180gsm summer chino and a 260gsm winter chino are different markers and a different needle; do not approve a summer sample and then ask for winter weight in bulk.
Dress trousers and formal pants want a smoother, heavier twill or a poly-viscose blend for crease retention and wrinkle resistance. Corduroy and linen are their own programs: corduroy has nap direction, linen wrinkles and we flag that at sampling. Joggers, sweatpants and track pants are knit — French terry or fleece — and sit closer to the hoodie line than to a chino. Construction
Fit, Pockets and Waistband
Fit is a grade, not a fabric. Slim, straight, relaxed, wide-leg, tapered and cropped are all available on the same twill if the block is locked at sampling. Rise and inseam in centimetres beat names like "7/8" or "ankle" — those names move with the size.
Cargo and utility add pocket bags, flaps, rivets and often a drawcord. That adds construction time, not MOQ — still 300 pieces per style. A basic chino and a six-pocket cargo should not share a first sample; the cargo will fail on pocket placement, not on the leg shape. Waistband: extended tab, belt loops, elastic-back, or a jogger rib. Pick it on the spec.
Order Types
Private Label, OEM, and Cut-Make-Trim
Private label: your waist label, care label, hang tag, packaging. OEM follows the tech pack — rise, inseam, pocket map, waistband, fabric weight. CMT at 5,000 pieces if you supply the twill. Cargo trims (rivets, drawcords) are sourced during sampling so bulk is not waiting on hardware.

Proto 10–14 days. For a chino, the first sample is a fit check standing and sitting — rise and thigh. For cargo, photograph every pocket loaded. Up to 10 free revisions.
